lee perry, on the wire.. roots music from creation

cassette-man size dub, like the tissues
I’m guessing that this tape is from the early nineties, when there was a bit of a lee perry rennaissance, it’s from Steve Barker‘s On The Wire radio show on BBC radio lancashire, it has passed through more car stereos than i can begin to remember and been the soundtrack to many comedown drive homes after nights of sweaty joy and pro-plus..
Other great reggae tapes have been “Deejay Explosion-Yellowman/Eek-A-Mouse/Sister Nancy et al” which is knocking about on mp3 these days and “Sugar Belly’s and Salt Mines” by my OTO Templist mate which had the most amazing Nyabinghi shit on it, but unfortuneately got lost in the many many moves..
